The Roxbury School District is a public district that serves school-aged children living in Roxbury Township and in Mount Arlington. Comprised of four elementary schools, one middle school, one junior high, and one high school, parents also have the option of sending their children to local area private and parochial schools. For students and adult learners interested in continuing their education in a collegiate environment, local area colleges and universities include Rutgers University, Roxbury Community College, County College of Morris, and Dover Business School.

Basketball camps, junior wrestling, lacrosse, and a bowling league keep the kids active, and crafts fairs and other events provide a forum for an open exchange or selling of handcrafted goods. The Recreation department even has a program called "Teen Travel" where teens in grades 6-9 can attend a field trip during the summer to several different sites in and around Morris County, and outside the area.
